How a Murtfeldt conveying screw is made
At Murtfeldt Kunststoffe, we manufacture our conveying screws by machining. The use of different milling machines makes it possible to accommodate the specific requirements of screws. Thanks to our six-axis machining centre, for example, we are one of the few manufacturers capable of producing screws up to 2.50 metres in length! The milling machine with traverse paths x = 4000 mm, Y = 800 mm and Z = 800 mm also has a special axis setup for the production of parts clamped on both sides up to a diameter of 400 mm with a length of up to 2500 mm. We also have a special configuration for the production of very complex screws. This system is connected to specialised CAM software, which is necessary for the production of custom screws. In addition, a vacuum plate makes it possible to machine long, flat components quickly and accurately.
