Original "S" plus+® FoodProtect [FS]®, manufactured from PE-UHMW TG 1.1, meets 100% of the food industry's requirements for detectability of plastic contaminants in food. 'Food Protect' stands for and combines two essential properties: food safe and X-ray and metal detectable.
Metal detectors reliably detect and remove metal contaminants from food. However, plastic particles from system components are problematic. Thanks to the addition of additives in the Original "S" plus+® FoodProtect [FS]®, all common metal detectors in the food industry are able to detect and sort out plastic particles*.
The abbreviation [FS]® at the end of the name stands for Food Safe. This means that the material is certified for use with food.

The detection capability of Original "S" plus+® FoodProtect [FS]® is determined by the product to be analysed, the particle size, the processing environment and the technology and sensitivity of the detector. In general, Original "S" plus+® FoodProtect [FS]® must be inserted into the detector.
