Applications of Feed Screws
The applications of feed screws are diverse. In nearly all areas where unit goods are produced, processed, and packaged, they are an essential component of the production process. Just like product turners, feed screws play a key role in tasks such as emptying, cleaning, filling, measuring and testing, printing, and many other processing steps.
Separation Screw
A varying number of products can be separated for further processing. The individual spacing enables optimal downstream gripping.
Turn Screw
The MURTFELDT turn screw rotates the product into the desired position for further processing and protects sensitive products.
2-in-1 Strand Screw
The double screw evenly combines products from two strands into one. The distance is individually adjustable.
1-to-2 Strand Screw
The double screw evenly distributes products from one strand into two, and can be easily integrated into the production process.
Grouping Screw
A varying number of products can be grouped for further processing. The adjustable distance allows for packaging in appropriate units.
Turning Grouping Screw
The turning grouping screw rotates the products, groups them, and spaces them at a defined distance. Various groupings are possible.
Our Material Selection
The material screws can be made from a wide range of materials. Depending on the application, different requirements are placed on the base material, which we can meet with our variety of high-quality materials.
PE Materials
Our PE materials, such as our Original S® green, are frequently used for conveying screws due to their excellent sliding properties. We offer PE-UHMW in many colors and with a variety of special properties, including food compliance accourding to EU and FDA, antimicrobial properties, and chemical resistance.
POM Materials
In the medical and pharmaceutical industries, our material Murytal® C black with FoodSafe option based on POM-C is particularly popular. It features a fine crystalline structure combined with a high tensile strength, offering excellent resilience, as well as very low moisture absorption. In its blue color, it is also highly suitable for use in the food industry.
PA6 C Materials
In the beverage industry, for example, our Murylon® 6 cast material with FoodSafe option is suitable, as it has very low internal stress.
This makes components resistant to impacts in high-stress areas and provides good fatigue and impact resistance.
The material is available in various grades.
DOSING SCREW

The material Original S® natural [FS]® offers excellent anti-stick properties and optimal cleaning capabilities due to its seamless construction – without the need for extra coatings. This allows for precise dosing of small bulk goods without loss or contamination in the bulk material industry.
